31 Days of Thanks – Contrast

This is what I see when I look out the back windows of our home.

Autumn Leaves 2013

The leaves are absolutely beautiful. I like to go outside and look at the trees after the rain, when the tree trunks and branches are darker than normal. The colors of the leaves are much more vibrant against the black bark. The contrast is stunning.

That is what grief is like sometimes.  There are moments of lightness that come into my heart. Against the dark backdrop of grief, these moments bring such relief. Today I am thankful that the darkness only enhances the lighter moments and makes them that much sweeter.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:6

Beautiful-thank you for shining on my day! I will enjoy looking at God’s creations even more.
    Love you,

Pattie I am sorry to reply this way but I can’t get “above the line” to type a message. Our trees at Lauralton are changing color also and in the morning sun they are beautiful. I will think of you as I go outside to do some photography work.
